Day 8- Wanaka

Wanaka was great- it is definitely a place to go to to get away from Queenstown. On our second day there we decided to go kayaking in the morning, which was really nice and peaceful, it was especially great to get an appreciation for the changing leaves, the water wasn't even that cold. After sea kayaking this was a piece of cake. We paddled out to an island in a little armada and then took turns jumping off a short cliff and the dock there, but soon out time for the kayaks was up and we headed back to mainland.
That afternoon we took the Rob Roy track in Wanaka. In essence in 2 to 3 hours we climbed a vertical kilometer up to the mountain summit. long the way I was able to get some amazing photos. The path was also covered with sheep- they were everywhere, up to the very top of the Mountain.

We were so happy when we finally got parallel with this ridge.

That night we had a barbeque- hamburgers and ribs, not bad- perfect after a days hard work.
